CLAIM YOUR CAMPUS
The mission of Claim Your Campus is to call, train, and sustain 1 million students to pray weekly at every middle and high school in America.
Consider that there are approximately 29 million middle and high school students in the United States. Roughly 63% of students aged 13-17 identify with Christianity. One in five would identify as evangelical Christians. Eighteen million would consider themselves “religiously unaffiliated.” Many of those are attending schools that regularly challenge or even belittle any faith they might have in Jesus.
Imagine the impact 1 million praying students might have not only on their schools but on the future of our country. What if, instead of always being on the defense regarding their faith, they went on the offense and began to systematically, faithfully and unitedly pray for fellow students, faculty, administration and school boards?
There is a movement of prayer happening among this next generation. Your students have an opportunity to be a part of it, and parents have the opportunity to fan into flame what God has already begun in the hearts of many students.
There are two ways you can join the movement: Prayer Groups and Prayer Walks!
PRAYER GROUPS: Go to claimyourcampus.com for resources and training on how to go about forming student-led prayer groups on your campus. Recruit some Christian friends to join you. You can also invite those who are not yet believers. It could just be that in the context of a prayer time, they would see their need of Jesus.
PRAYER WALKS: Get the church involved. In these weeks before school, invite adults and students to walk around your school(s) and pray. There are prayer guides on the Claim Your Campus website. Pray for protection from bullying. Pray for the mental health of students. Pray for students of faith to remain strong. Pray that teachers and administrators will defend the faith of your students and pray that more and more students will see their need of Jesus.
There is a battle raging for the souls of students. Could you join others in standing in the gap on behalf of your school? Claim your campus — don’t allow the enemy to win at your school.
