PRAYER AT BETHEL UNIVERSITY

Prayer is one of the primary values of the leadership of Bethel University. In addition to chapels, spiritual emphasis weeks, and intentional mentoring of students, there is a group of people who gather every Wednesday at noon in the old log church on campus for a time of prayer for the university, the students, and the leadership. The day before classes began, Missionary Church directors, four regional directors, as well as several pastors, met in the trustee board room to pray for and with the faculty of the Department of Religion and Philosophy. These faculty members will speak into the lives of future pastors and leaders in the Missionary Church. These faculty members not only have a desire to be at their best in their field academically, but they also have a desire to influence students to have a deep love for the Word of God; a desire to study and apply it to their lives; and to become disciples of Jesus who make disciples of others. Their love for Jesus was obvious. Their burden for students was equally obvious.Bethel University is a tremendous asset of the Missionary Church. God is using this school to shape the lives of young adults who will become leaders in a multitude of vocations. Students impacted by godly professors will become disciple makers in various arenas.Pray for Bethel. Professors and leaders at Bethel may be some of the most forgotten “ministers” in the Missionary Church. Pray that God will keep professors encouraged. Pray that He will use them not only to equip students to do well in their chosen field but also to challenge and equip them to become disciple makers.Pray for the leadership of Bethel. Pray that God will grant them wisdom as they navigate financial and cultural challenges that face Christian colleges and universities.Pray for students. Pray that their experience at Bethel will be one of spiritual growth, academic achievement, and equipping for ministry. Pray that God will give each one a Kingdom mindset.Praise the Lord for what He has done and is doing through Bethel University. Your prayers make a difference.
