In his book City of Prayer, Trey Kent shared his story of an encounter with God calling him to pray for the City of Austin, Texas; but not just to pray for the city but to invite other pastors and churches to cover the city in 24/7 prayer. He wanted to see Austin become the most prayed for city in the nation. That prayer movement has continued for more than 6 years.

That commitment to prayer gave birth to the idea of 24/7 prayer for the Missionary Church. Could the Missionary Church be the most prayed for denomination in the country? This call to pray should not preclude your church praying for your community – for a move of the Spirit to bring awakening.

The MLC/GOC have been asking the Lord to lead them as they give leadership to the Missionary Church. These are gifted and passionate leaders, but they cannot do this alone. They have a concern for investing in pastors and churches so that we have healthy churches and healthy, well-equipped pastors leading them. They also have a burden to see a multiplication of disciples and a multiplication of churches.

There is urgency in this call to prayer. While God is doing some amazing things among Gen Z on university campuses, the per-centage of people in America who believe religion is important in their lives is declining. God is the only One who can change those stats.

We have the privilege of being a part of what God is doing through prayer. Now is the time to invest in a kingdom movement through prayer. We dare not sit comfortably on the side-lines. We must pray!

Could your church cover one day each month – 12 days during 2026 – to pray for the Missionary Church and its leaders? Perhaps your church would take the 1st Monday of every month, and another church could take the 2nd Monday of every month. Thirty churches could cover the entire year. We are obviously counting on more, but it seems we should be able to cover the year.

As an individual, could you commit to praying one day per month for the Missionary Church?
