God Always Provides

A secure staff couple in Asia recently had an official meeting with a local church to inquire whether the church body would like to cooperate with the couple in ministry. Two years earlier the staff couple had asked the church if they would pray for them as they initiated a new ministry project. The church board told the staff that they would wait to pray until they saw active ministry.The staff couple began their new ministry and people from the church got involved. After a year, the staff couple was asked to meet with the church body once again. They went to explain how their ministry was going, but the church responded negatively. So the couple decided to continue with the ministry but not ask the church to support them in it.The next day, the staff couple stopped at a market shop to pick up donated materials for the ministry project. The staff met with the owners of the shop who were interested in hearing all about the project and what was happening with it. The owners were from a different congregation in the area and explained that their church body had felt the Spirit’s call to pray for the project from the outset without the staff couple knowing. The staff couple was pleasantly surprised and recognized it as a wonderful reminder that even if we don’t know it is happening “behind the scenes,” God always provides!
