BETHEL – VIRTUAL PRAYER WALK
February 23 was the 200th anniversary of the Collegiate Day of prayer. For the first time in those 200 years, every campus in the United States was adopted by an individual, church or other entity for the purpose of prayer. On the heels of the Asbury revival that began a few weeks earlier, there are stories of God continuing to pour out His Spirit on college campuses and churches across the country and around the world.
While it is wonderful and even amazing to know that people across the country prayed for our college and university students on February 23, we can’t stop now. This is the time to fan into flame what God began in early February.
Praise the Lord for student leaders who led times of prayer walking at Bethel on the Collegiate Day of Prayer. Students, faculty, staff and others walked the campus and prayed in and around the various buildings and prayed with students and staff when they had opportunity.
For those who could not be on campus for the Collegiate Day of Prayer, it’s still possible to visit the campus another time and walk and pray. Or you can do a virtual prayer walk from the comfort of your office or home. EveryCampus has provided a guide for doing a virtual prayer walk on any campus. Follow the instructions to download a prayer guide that gives you prayer prompts for praying for the various venues. Follow this link for a map of Bethel University so that you can visualize walking the campus and praying.
At a recent visit to the EveryCampus website, it was listed that three people had prayer walked the Bethel University campus. Would it be possible for us to have at least 100 people do a virtual prayer walk of Bethel’s campus? Could you be a part of fanning into flame what God began at Asbury and continues to do across the country?
