Exciting Developments for World Partners in 2023

As 2023 comes to an end and another year is on the horizon, we look back at all the exciting developments that have taken place through World Partners staff and affiliates around the world. We couldn’t have done any of this without you!

  •  A World Partners Regional Strategy Coordinator from Europe taught two groups of Kenyan women how to use oral techniques and audio Bibles to disciple other women. A group of young men who are evangelizing in a local refugee camp heard of the training and joined in so they can use the technique to disciple others and move their disciple-making forward.

  • Fifty-four individuals completed the ten-week Breaking Free 101 series led by World Partners staff Bill and Debbie Jones at LaGrange Missionary Church. In January, the Joneses will continue their work and lead a Breaking Free 101 seminar for a Missionary Church in Hawaii.

  • World Partners people have made disciples among fourteen Unreached People Groups. Among them, the Yao in Mozambique, the Karbi in India, the Fulani in Nigeria, the Koli in Pakistan, and the Buryat in Russia.

  • World Partners Regional Strategy Coordinators Abad, Miguel Arias, and Nat Brown, and World Partners’ James Wolheter led a discipleship training in Riberalta, Bolivia, with a group of people training to be missionaries in the Latin world and Africa. These are the next generation of missionaries who want to reach the world for the gospel!

  • A World Partners affiliate in South Asia led a Bible translation event. He states, “We had thirteen new language groups that we started training to translate the Bible into their heart languages. This year, we have started six new translation projects.” He is now leading the translation group onto starting thirteen more in 2024.

  • Led by a World Partners Regional Strategy Coordinator, groups of disciples gathered in southern Nigeria and Cameroon for discipleship training and to discuss how discipleship works in their daily lives. These disciples are fishermen, delivery men, taxi drivers, etc., but they have a desire to see Jesus at work in their communities.

  • World Partners announced World Partners Latino Director Carlos and Ruth Medina. World Partners’ Jeremy and Mindie Tice transitioned this year into new roles as liaisons to Bethel University. They are all busy implementing new ideas and striving to bring up the next generation of disciple-makers!
