NOVEMBER PRAYER FOCUS – PERSECUTED CHURCH

Before you pray, read the accompanying Scripture, and then allow the Holy Spirit to teach you what to pray. Provided here are simple sentence suggestions for ways to pray. Allow the Holy Spirit to expand your prayers for the persecuted Church.

  1. Please pray persecuted believers would know the hope God gives (Ephesians 1:18).
  2. Pray the Holy Spirit would strengthen them (Ephesians 3:16).
  3. Please pray persecuted believers would know how much God loves them (Ephesians 3:17)
  4. Pray they would know how to share the gospel (Ephesians 6:19).
  5. Please pray persecuted believers would fearlessly tell others about Jesus (Ephesians 6:20).
  6. Pray for those in the midst of persecution as if you were chained with them (Hebrews 13:3)
  7. Pray that they will be able to forgive their persecutors and be willing to pray for those who are doing the persecuting (Matthew 5:44)
  8. Pray for the families and loved ones of those being persecuted that they may find grace to help them in this time of need (Hebrews 4:16)
  9. Pray that churches would rise up in support of those who are persecuted (Acts 4:2-35)
  10. Pray for wisdom for world leaders to fight persecution of believers (Psalm 2:10-11)
  11. Praise God for the witness that goes out every day from those who have been censored, beaten and imprisoned for their faith.
  12. Pray especially for the most vulnerable – for the women and children who are so often exploited (James 1:27)
  13. Pray that the Gospel would spread in spite of the Persecution (Acts 8:1-8; 11:19)
  14. Pray that those being persecuted will be able to remain strong in the face of the dangers (Matthew 13:21)
  15. Pray that those being persecuted will know and continually be assured of the love of Christ (Romans 8:35)
  16. Praise God for the faithfulness of these who experience incredible trials (Romans 16:19; II Thessalonians 1:4)
  17. Pray that those being persecuted will find great strength in Christ in spite of the circumstances (II Corinthians 12:10)
  18. Pray that those being persecuted will be encouraged by reports of the spread of the Gospel and of the faith they have given witness to (I Thessalonians 3:7)
  19. Pray that God will rescue believers from persecution (II Timothy 3:11)
  20. Pray that the Church will find ways to stand side by side with those being persecuted (Hebrews 10:33)
  21. Praise God that He is fulfilling His promise – that there are witnesses going to the ends of the earth (Acts 1:8)
  22. Pray that their ministry activities will remain undetected by authorities or others who wish to silence them (Acts 9:23-25)
  23. Pray they will be able to rejoice in the midst of suffering (Acts 5:40-42)
  24. Pray they will continue to have opportunities to share the good news (Colossians 4:3-4)
  25. Pray that persecuted believers will sense God’s presence (Hebrews 13:3,5b-6)
  26. Pray for the cities where Christians are persecuted; pray that they might prosper. (Jeremiah 29:7)
  27. Pray for an awakening in those countries where persecution is happening – pray that the Holy Spirit will awaken those nations to the love of Christ (Colossians 2:13)
  28. Pray that those being persecuted will remember that our battle is not with flesh and blood so that they will be able to intercede on behalf of their persecutors. (Ephesians 6:12)
  29. Since our battle is not against flesh and blood, pray that God would break the grip the enemy has on these persecutors. (Ephesians 6:12)
  30. Praise God that God is raising up disciples in the uttermost parts of the earth (Matthew 28:18-20)
