PRAYER INITIATIVES

DATES FOR YOUR CALENDAR

THURSDAY, MAY 2, 2019 - NATIONAL DAY OF PRAYER – The theme for this year’s National Day of Prayer is “Love One Another” from John 13:34. This is certainly an appropriate theme in a nation that is so divided and filled with hate. There are resources available to you to host your own National Day of Prayer event by following this link: https://nationaldayofprayer.org/.  It is also great to unite with other churches for a community gathering on the National Day of Prayer. For years Christians have gathered in Washington, in communities around the country and in local churches to pray for these seven spheres of influence:

  • Entertainment
  • Business
  • Education
  • Family
  • Government
  • Media
  • Religion

WEDNESDAY, SEPTEMBER 25, 2019 - SEE YOU AT THE POLE (SYATP)– This is a great opportunity to mobilize your students to pray for their campuses.  You can go to: http://syatp.com/ for stories of the 2018 event and to find resources for 2019. Claim your campus (https://claimyourcampus.com/) is another great ministry that is mobilizing students to pray in and for their local schools.

SUNDAY, NOVEMBER 4, 2019 - INTERNATIONAL DAY OF PRAYER FOR THE PERSECUTED CHURCH – https://www.persecution.com/idop/ . In many parts of the world today there will be believers who lose their lives for their faith. The Center for the Study of Global Christianity (CSGC) says 900,000 Christians have been 'martyred' in the last decade, equating to 90,000 a year and one every six minutes. Others will suffer the loss of homes, businesses and churches. We need to stand in the gap for our brothers and sisters around the world.
